Sometime back I was told that if page number sixty nine is good in a novel, that the book must be a good read. Anyone agree with that? Anyway, I wanted to put that theory to the test, so I posted page sixty nine out of “Deccan Diamond.” Please comment and tell me what your thoughts are on this theory, and my page sixty nine. Just reading this page, do you think it has a potential of being a good read?

I think this page is really good. I haven’t read your book yet, but this excerpt is making me want to find out more. It leaves you wanting to know what’s going to happen to Arabella. Is she going to be alright? Is this man a love interest? and Why was the assistant afraid of him? Once I’m finished with the current series I’m reading I’m going to start reading “Deccan Diamond”. Can’t wait!
Also, we miss you over here in Ohio!! Can’t wait to see you at Christmas time.

Thank you “Tiffy.” I hope you like it when you read it. I am currently editing it so I can put it on Amazon for download to the Kindle (Amazon’s Wireless Reading Device.) We miss you too. Can’t wait to see you!

Why 69? Although for Deccan Diamond a good choice. It certainly leaves you curious about this poor sick girl. And who is her “knight in shining armor”? Interesting theory.

Hi Heidi! I am not sure why they picked page 69. Maybe for an average book it’s the middle? (Not the books I read.)

I think that page 69 is great, it gets your attention and leaves you wondering what is going to happen. If I had not read the book and I read this excerpt these questions would arise, how did this predicament happen, who are these characters, why is Sameer so demanding ,and why is the assistant afraid of him.
Can’t wait for the 2nd book,
Candace
